High-Rise Quality

Are practical completion inspections by owners a thing of the past?

There’s a pleasing push occurring right now, across the construction industry, to improve quality control in residential buildings. The tight workforce economy, shortages of materials and influx of people seeking residence, have resulted in some bad experiences with quality control. The onus of monitoring workmanship and cross-checking plans is falling on the consumer, and they aren’t loving it.

There is an opportunity for change

There’s a niche market here for innovative developers who are dedicated to customer service and the quality of products to shine above their competitors.

Imagine moving into a newly built, luxury apartment without concerns for construction defects or workmanship issues. A building Inspector has already been there, hired by the developer, to confirm the quality of the build. How good would that be!

That’s what Home Integrity is doing right now for Blackburne’s One Subiaco residence. Located on the site of the old Pavilion Markets, One Subiaco is a 24 storey, high rise residence made up of three unique towers. The towers include 236 apartments in one, two and three-bedroom configurations with large living spaces, and a resort-style living communal area.

Home Integrity are paving the way

Home Integrity has been engaged by Blackburn as a third-party quality control consultant reviewing the construction and finish of each level as it nears completion.

Essentially, we are providing practical completion inspections on each unit (and the common areas), before they move to the next level. This provides the builder and developer clarity over common concerns and allows any adjustments or fixes to the construction process as they make they way up the towers.

The residents of One Subiaco will have confidence in the quality of their new home Blackburne are providing and look forward to a superior finish in their residence.

“It has been a pleasure to have Home Integrity as an integral part of the quality assurance team at our ONE Subiaco residences. They have worked seamlessly with our team, and the builder, to ensure the final product is a premium offering for the owners. We look forward to working with the team at Home Integrity on future projects.”
