Home maintenance can seem tedious at times, but it can save you money and time in the long run.
Here are the top Spring Preventative Maintenance tips from our building inspectors;
- Clear your gutters and downpipes of any debris that may have accumulated during the winter storms.
- Check the exterior for any weather damage
- Check all pool barriers for potential safety hazards. Have any latches been affected by corrosion etc
- Take a walk around your gardens. Make sure any trees or large plants are contained and not intruding on any retaining walls.
- Wash down the decks and debug patios and pergolas removing unwanted guests from those summer get-togethers.
- Get your air conditioning serviced and filters cleaned ready for those hot summer nights.
- Keep an eye out for timber pest – Spring is the swarming season for most subterranean termites. Swarmers are winged mature termites who go looking for places to form new colonies. If you see areas of possible infestation arrange an expert to carry out a timber pest inspection asap.
